Habitat for Humanity of Autauga and Chilton Counties is hosting two application fairs on Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. and Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Prattville.

This year, one Chilton family will be selected among the applicants to receive a Habitat for Humanity home, according to Executive Director Lisa Green.

“We are expecting a good volume of folks this go-around,” Green said, explaining that Habitat aims to hold these application fairs about once every other year, depending on funding.

“We’re happy that we’re able to have this application fair,” Green said.

Each session typically lasts two hours.

A list of home ownership eligibility requirements for applicants is available at habitatautaugachilton.org under the Home Interest Information tab.

Green said income amount includes that of all working members of the residence. If applicants are married, both spouses must attend the session.

Applicants should bring key documents, including birth certificates for each resident, photo identification, most current rent payment, utility bills and more. A full list is provided on the website’s Home Interest Information page.

Green said Habitat expects to announce selected families on Feb. 21.

Doors lock 10 minutes after the starting time for both application sessions. Attendees may enter the church from the Fourth Street entrance only, and can follow signs to the correct meeting place.

Childcare is not provided, as seating is limited.

To register, call (334) 365-4132 or email Daon Johnson at daon.johnson@habitatautaugachilton.org.

First United Methodist Church is located at 100 East Fourth Street in Prattville.
