Maplesville 28 American Christian 0

The Red Devils were in for a battle early on, as the game remained scoreless after the first quarter.

However, Maplesville (9-0) finally got on the scoreboard when Brent Schoener hit Timothy Bradley for a 15-yard touchdown to grab a 6-0 lead at halftime.

Maplesville methodically extended its lead in the second half.

A 19-yard run by Ryan Morrow and a fumble recovery in the end zone by Nick Bush, after Schoener initially coughed it up at the one-yard line, opened it up 21-0 after three quarters.

Morrow punched in his second score of the night from a yard out in the final quarter to put the game away for good. He finished with a game-high 88 yards and two scores on 15 carries.

Nathaniel Watson hauled in five receptions for 61 yards, as Maplesville finished the regular season undefeated.

Jemison 28 Shelby County 27

Jemison won in dramatic fashion after Eric Evans scored with three seconds left to tie the game.

However, the extra point still had to be made in order to grab the lead.

With all the outcome of the game hanging in the balance, Alex Davison did not disappoint and nailed the kick to secure the Panthers’ fifth win of the regular season.

Central Tuscaloosa was forced to forfeit all of its wins by the AHSAA earlier in the day and that coupled with a Sumter Central loss to Oxford, means that Jemison clinches a spot in the playoffs.
