Maplesville runs away from Highland Home

Maplesville stormed past Highland Home with a mammoth 70-19 victory in the home opener for the Red Devils.
The home crowd was not disappointed and was treated to a game full of highlight reel plays.
The defense forced five turnovers in the first half alone and the offense capitalized on every opportunity.
It was a team effort with several players contributing by putting points on the scoreboard.
Brent Schoener threw and ran for a touchdown, while Ryan Morrow, Nathaniel Watson and Christin Brown each found the end zone on the ground.
Chaz Morris returned an interception for a touchdown early on in the game and helped kick start the Maplesville attack en route to a 49-0 halftime lead.
The Red Devils remained in firm control of the game throughout the second half thanks to a pair of rushing touchdowns and a connection from Jackson Abbott to Steven Gray.
Maplesville outgained Highland Home by 248 yards in the exact same number of plays for both teams.
The Red Devils improved to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in Region 3-1A.
