The YMCA of Chilton County has one last party planned before school starts.

The organization is hosting a pool party on Aug. 8 at the Clanton City Pool from 1 to 5 p.m.

“Tuesday is the last day that we are open during the week … so we decided to make it a back-to school party,” Tiffanee Edwards of the YMCA said.

The event is also being used as an opportunity to gather school supplies for Chilton County students. Edwards said admission to the pool party is a donation of one school supply.

Concessions will be sold at the event.

Although the pool will not be open during the week when school starts, it will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. through Labor Day. Edwards said the pool will also be available to be booked for private parties.

The YMCA manages the pool each summer for the city of Clanton.

The pool is located on Park Drive in Clanton City Park.
