A professional rodeo is coming to town to raise funds for Bridges of Faith.

Bridges of Faith is an organization that works with orphans from Ukraine and has been a partner in more than 100 adoptions.

“They rescue Ukrainian orphans and help they find forever homes,” Pastor Keith Green of Life Brand Cowboy Church in Prattville, which is sponsoring the event, said.

B.R. Ink Rodeo Productions is organizing the show.

“We decided to step in and help them raise funds for their missions organization, and it helps us get the word out about our Cowboy Church,” Green said.

The deadline for advance tickets is July 30. Children ages 6 and under are free.

This family-friendly event will be Aug. 4- 5 starting at 7:30 p.m. each night.  Cost for the Aug. 4 event is $5. This show will include barrel races, bull riding and bareback riding. The main event will be Aug. 5, including Team Roping, Girls and Junior breakaway, saddle bronco, chute dogging, barrel racing bareback, bull riding and bullfighting.

“They are going to have Mexicans fighting bulls there, and there will be like five guys. This is actually an event where they compete for buckles,” Green said. Tickets for the Aug. 5 event are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling Jimmy Boswell at 334-525-0436 or Green at 205-245-4138.

Green said the rodeo will feature cowboys and cowgirls as young as 4 years old to adults.

“Very entertaining. It will be a lot of fun,” Green said.

There will also be food and cowboy accessory venders on site.

Bleachers will be set up, but there will be space for those who prefer a lawn chair

Bridges of Faith brings Ukrainian orphans to summer events at their property, where they can enjoy just being a child, hear about God and meet families that might be interested in adopting them. Green said orphan girls in Ukraine are at a high risk of becoming involved with sex trafficking and prostitution. Others, boys and girls, do not have the tools to live on their own when they age out of the Ukrainian orphanage.

The rodeo will be at Bridges of Faith, 302 County Road 383 in Billingsley.
