The Chilton County Humane Society is gearing up for a wine tasting fundraiser and auction on May 27 at Hidden Meadow Vineyard in Jemison.

Tickets are $10 at the door.

President Katherine Reece said there will be more room at the event this year because the winery has expanded its patio area.

Muscadine, blueberry, blackberry and peach wines are among the flavors to be offered.

Bottles of wine will be on sale for $13 with $1 from each bottle sold going to the Humane Society.

Entertainment will be provided by Cara Lawson. Reece said Lawson is donating her performance to the fundraiser.

The Humane Society was excited Lawson was available because she had already been booked in previous years when they asked her about participating in the event.

“We do need more auction items,” Reece said.

She said she was looking for some donations of wooden furniture that she can refinish for inclusion in the auction.

Local businesses have also donated items for the auction.
