The Clanton Police Department was involved in a high-speed chase that ended with a wreck on March 24.

The CPD responded to a call after a motorcycle allegedly came close to hitting a state trooper at a very high rate of speed.

The CPD got involved in the pursuit. Shortly thereafter, the suspect wrecked near the 205 exit on Interstate 65.

Chief Keith Maddox said police discovered that the motorcycle was stolen. They also found marijuana and a pistol on the suspect, who at the time claimed not to be injured and was arrested on multiple charges. He later complained of injuries and was released on bond.
