The Clanton Police Department and the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office assisted Alabama State Troopers in handling a wreck on U.S. 31 in Clanton at approximately 10 a.m. on Jan. 30.

Law enforcement redirected southbound traffic near the post office for about an hour. Northbound traffic was allowed to pass slowly as workers cleared the wreckage from the highway.

Three vehicles were significantly damaged in the accident, which occurred in front of Auto Zone on U.S. 31.

The roadway was cleared shortly before 11 a.m. on Jan. 30.

According to officials, the persons involved in the incident were being given medical attention. Their current condition is unknown.
