MAPLESVILLE — Todd Ingram has been reappointed as chief for the Maplesville Police Department.

Ingram has served in this position for 10 years.

“I like the community and the people,” Ingram said.

He said his longevity of service has allowed him to build trust with the people of the community he serves.

The Maplesville Town Council reappointed Ingram to the position during its meeting this week.

“It’s great to know the council supports me and the community supports me and they want me back,” Ingram said.

The appointment is for another four-year term. In this time, Ingram said the department will continue “to keep being professional and keep people safe.”

Ingram is originally from Alabaster. He began his law enforcement career in 1993 in Birmingham.

Ingram is married to Alicia, who is from Maplesville.

Prior to his career in law enforcement, Ingram served in the Army National Guard, U.S. Army and U. S. Marines. He served two deployments: one during Desert Storm and one to Iraq.

Also during the council meeting, the Maplesville Town Council approved the three-month raise for Assistant Police Chief Keith Crosby and the six-month raise for Senior Center Driver Deborah Blais. When new employees are hired they customarily receive a 25-cent raise, every three months for a year.

The council also approved moving forward with the expansion of the Fire Department building. The addition is expected to cost $41,000 and be constructed by Steel Built Systems LLC of Maplesville.

Interior renovations will also be made.

The project will add another vehicle bay, classroom space and additional office space.
