Mrs. Mavis Nell Higgins

Mrs. Mavis Nell Higgins, age 69 of Quinton, died Monday, Oct. 31, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Brasfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Ruby Nell Wallace; father, Sam W. Jones; husband, Johnnie Higgins; and brother, Melvin Jones.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Jones of Clanton, Myrtice Caton of Jemison, Diane Tenney and her husband, Calvin of Clarksburg, W.V., Marie Tenney and her husband, Larry of Fairmont, W.V., and Gale Cahalane of Clanton; brother, James Jones and his wife, Pat of Jemison; daughter, Tina Shindell of Cordova; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Kahlia; and her feline companion, Missy.
