Donald Howard Vinzant

Donald Howard Vinzant, age 74 of the Mineral Springs Community in Clanton, passed away suddenly Friday, Oct. 21, at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on Aug. 15, 1942; the son of the late James Howard Vinzant and the late Voncile Johnson Vinzant.

He was a former commercial contractor and owner at Charles and Vinzant Construction. He was a faithful and devoted member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Vinzant of Clanton; son, Shannon Vinzant of Clanton; daughter, Vicki (Ross) Cline of Mt. Olive; daughter, Crystal (Josh) Robinson of Jemison; daughter, Lindsey (Scotty) Smitherman of Thorsby; grandchildren, Katie Bryant, Jill Vinzant, Laura Vinzant, Courtney Cline, Caitlin Cline, Gavin Smitherman, Cooper Smitherman, Gunner Smitherman, Hayden Robinson, and Rece Robinson; great grandchild, Titus Bryant; sister, Joan (Carl) Headley of Clanton; sons, Beau Coleman and family, John Coleman and family, Michael Coleman and family, and Brad Coleman and family.

He is preceded in death by wife, Lawana Vinzant; wife, Kathryn Osborn Vinzant; parents, Howard and Voncile Vinzant; and brothers, Bobby Ray Vinzant and George Ronald Vinzant.

Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 23 from 6-9 p.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Green, Rev. J. Aaron Ellison, and Rev. Doug West officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
