CLANTON – The Chilton County YMCA is hosting a free fall festival for the community on Monday, Oct. 24, from 5-7 p.m.
The event will take place at the Clanton youth football field located at 205 Hoyt Brownie Road, right behind the YMCA in Clanton.
Fun for the entire family will be available including inflatables, concessions and face painting.
“The goal is community outreach so we’ve gotten sponsors to help make it a free event for us,” said Chilton County YMCA Director Lori Patterson.
She also said the sponsors have helped them get 14 inflatables, which include slides, bouncy houses and obstacle courses.
“That amount of inflatables really draws attention from the kids so we made sure to have plenty for them to enjoy,” Patterson said.
Several different businesses will also have booths set up for shopping and games will be incorporated into the festivities as well.
Concessions will include pizza, pickles, popcorn and drinks.
“Just being able to offer a fairly big event for youths that’s free to attend was our main goal,” Patterson said. “It’s an opportunity that some of them wouldn’t get if it cost money. A lot of times if you take kids to a festival and you have two or three kids it can become very expensive.”
Co-Missioned Ministries will also be in attendance hosting a free clothing giveaway.
This is a good way for parents to come and shop while the kids are enjoying all of the fun games.
They said they can’t guarantee sizes because all clothing is donation based, but they hope to be able to bless everyone in attendance somehow.
The ministry will also be collecting gently used clothing at the festival for their next outreach program on Oct. 29 at the Clanton Outdoor Market.
Patterson said it should be a well-rounded event that brings the entire community together for a night of fall fun.
