James David “Jim” Hallman
James David “Jim” Hallman, 82, of Marbury died Saturday, Oct. 8 at Hatley Health Care, Clanton.
He was born on Tuesday, March 20, 1934 in Parrish, son of the late Chester Hallman and the late Elsie Studdard Hallman.
He was a regional commissioner for the Internal Revenue Service. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are his wife, Merlene Hallman of Marbury; son, James (Malia) Hallman, II of Madison, Miss.; daughter, Renee (Don) Russell of Chattanooga, Tenn.; step daughter, Sonya (Jay) Hutchens of Marbury; step son, Layne (Chandra) McGalliard of Marbury; grandchildren, Matthew Hallman of Franklin, Tenn., Jacob Hallman of Madison, Miss., and Rachel Zacharias of Chattanooga, Tenn.; great-grandchild, Francine Zacharias of Chattanooga, Tenn.; step grandchildren, Mason McGalliard of Birmingham; step grandchild, Jeffrey (Rebecca) McGalliard of Hoover, Savannah Ladner of Kiln, Miss., and Amelia Nelson of Prattville; step great-grandchild, Alanah Ladner of Kiln, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Elsie Hallman, and sister, Jean Byrd.
Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Grace Fellowship Church.
Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church with Rev. Kevin Corley officiating. Interment will follow in Wadsworth Baptist Cemetery, Deatsville.
