Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements for graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level.

BASEBALL

Chance Calloway (Chilton County 2012) clinched his first win of the season as the starting pitcher for NAIA Auburn University at Montgomery’s baseball program (13-5) in a 4-3 victory at Talladega College (10-6) by delivering two strikeouts and allowing two earned runs in a five-inning performance on Feb. 26 in Talladega.

For the season, the senior has compiled a 1-0 overall record, 11 2/3 innings, nine strikeouts and a 2.31 ERA through three appearances and two starts.

James Ratliff (Chilton County 2014) did not allow a hit or an earned run in a one-inning effort as a relief pitcher for Marion Military Institute (19-3-1) in a 7-1 triumph at home against Coahoma Community College (4-11-1) on Feb. 26 in Marion.

For the season, the sophomore has totaled four innings and a 4.5 ERA through three appearances and one start.

Blake Teel (Chilton County 2014) collected his first win of the season as the starting pitcher for the Marion Military Institute baseball program (19-3-1) in an 8-0 sweep of Southeastern Illinois College by delivering three strikeouts and not allowing an earned run in a four-inning effort on Feb. 20 in Marion.

For the season, the sophomore has tallied a 1-1 overall record, 12 innings, six strikeouts and a 4.5 ERA through four appearances and three starts.

MEN’S GOLF

Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) captured the No. 4 performance for the No. 15 University of North Alabama at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional Preview Tournament by tying for 70th overall with a three-round score of 244 (81-79-84) en route to leading the Lions to place 12th among the field of 16 teams from Feb. 28-March 1 in Lake County, Fla.

Ivan Truss (Chilton County 2014) is a sophomore for Samford University, which will resume competition at the Grover Page Classic from March 13-15 in Jackson, Tennessee.

In the Bulldogs’ most recent effort, the program clinched victory among the field of 10 teams at the Folino Men’s Invitational from Feb. 15-16 in Industry Hills, Calif.

MEN’S TENNIS

Bryan Cochran (Jemison 2014) is a sophomore for Faulkner University, which fell to 1-3 overall after sustaining an 8-1 loss at home to Ohio Northern University (1-5) on March 1 in Bay Minette.

Season statistics were not available at press time.

SOFTBALL

Kristina Caton (Chilton County 2015) is in the midst of a six-game winning streak en route to leading the Snead State Community College softball program to improve to 14-5 overall for the season.

On Feb. 20, the freshman started her run by batting 1-for-3 in a 4-3 loss at home to Chipola College (22-4) in Meridian, Miss.

On Feb. 26, she followed by finishing 1-for-2 with one run scored and one RBI in an 11-0 sweep at home of Meridian Community College (5-12) in Tuscaloosa.

On Feb. 27, she ended 1-for-2 with one RBI in a 5-4 victory at home in Game 1 of a doubleheader against East Mississippi Community College (7-9).

In Game 2, she followed by batting 2-for-4 with one run scored in an 8-6 triumph.

On Feb. 28, she finished 1-for-1 with two runs scored and one RBI in a 13-1 victory at home against Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (1-12).

In her most recent effort, she ended 1-for-2 with two RBIs and one run scored in a 9-1 triumph at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia.

For the season, she has totaled seven runs scored, six RBIs, one home run and a .400 batting average.

Shelby Lopez (Jemison 2012) batted 2-for-4 at catcher for the University of Montevallo softball program (7-12) in a 9-1 loss in Game 1 of a doubleheader at home to the University of Indianapolis (11-0) in game on Feb. 19 in Montevallo.

In Game 2, the senior followed by finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI in a 12-2 loss.

In her most recent effort, she followed by ending 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI in a 9-1 loss to Alabama State University (5-12) on March 4 in Irondale.

For the season, she’s compiled 13 runs scored, 11 RBIs, three home runs, one triple, one double, one stolen base and a .388 batting average.

Brooke Lewis (Chilton County 2014) batted 1-for-3 with one RBI as an outfielder for Southern Union State Community College (6-14) in a 5-0 triumph in Game 1 of a doubleheader against East Georgia State College (6-15) on March 1 in Swainsboro, Georgia.

In Game 2, the sophomore followed by ending 2-for-3 in a 3-1 loss.

For the season, the sophomore has totaled three runs scored, three RBIs and a .360 batting average.

Holly Watts (Chilton County 2014) adds local flavor to Southern Union State Community College.

For the year, the sophomore infielder has tallied six RBIs, three runs scored, one home run, one double and a .240 batting average.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Lori Davis (Billingsley 2012) is a thrower for Alabama State University, which will resume competition at the University of Alabama Relays from March 18-19 in Tuscaloosa.

The Hornets are fresh off securing an eighth-consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships title from Feb. 20-21 in Birmingham.

Davis last competed at the 2015 Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, clinching victory in the javelin with a mark of 126 feet, 9.25 inches en route to leading the Hornets to a first-place finish among the field of 10 teams.

Sarah Graham (Chilton County 2015) is a freshman at distance for the University of West Alabama, which resume competition at the Jaguar Opener from March 4-5 in Mobile.
