Chilton County will experience a range of weather the next several days.

The county is included in a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service.

According to the outlook, there is a threat of damaging straight-line winds, hail and a few tornadoes across southwest sections of Central Alabama beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday and continuing through 2 a.m. Friday.

Then, on Friday, a storm system is expected to move across Central Alabama and bring with it a chance of snow.

Rain will become mixed with snow and then change over to all snow Friday afternoon into Friday night.

The temperature should fall to 36 degrees by 5 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

There is a chance of snow accumulation, up to about an inch, in the northern part of the area.

The same low-pressure system will produce strong and gusty winds. Winds of 10-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph are possible on Friday.

The chance of snow will taper off after midnight. The low overnight Friday will be 28 degrees.

Skies should clear on Saturday, with a high near 38 and a low around 32 degrees. Winds could remain strong.

Forecasts for Sunday call for sunny skies with a high near 50, and the temperature could climb to 58 degrees on Jan. 25.
