Calvary Independent Baptist Church wants to say a special thanks to our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ and everyone who has been a part in the services at Calvary in the year 2015.

We are thankful for each one who has visited this past year, attended services at various times and the ones who have kept us in their prayers.

We also want to say a special thanks to our local news papers for taking the time to publish news on weekly church events and services.

As a small church we know we could never make it from year to year if it were not for you people and the church as a whole finding favor in the grace of our Almighty God.

We pray that you have all been blessed this past year and we are looking forward to the opportunity to see what God is wanting to do in and through the ministry of Calvary Independent Baptist Church in 2016.

This past Sunday services included a message in the morning service from I Samuel 30:21-25 on “What a difference one person for God can make!”

The evening services included an introduction to James chapter one on a continuing study through the book of James.

We are located in south Clanton just past Dollar General right off U.S. 31 on Fulmer Drive.

Our regular weekly services include Sunday School at 9 a.m., Children’s Church and Adult Worship services Sunday at 10 a.m., Sunday services starting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday services at 6:30 p.m. and we also have a bible study on every other Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Bro. Mike Lawerence’s message Sunday was from Matthew 7:13-14 and entitled “Life’s Highways Are Roads To Destiny.”

Which will we take in 2016? God gives us tow roads, the broad and the narrow.

It can be said that the narrow road is the middle of the broad road, but going in the opposite direction.

When you are in sin you are walking away from God, but when you repent you turn around and we are walking in the opposite direction toward God.

The broad road represents sin and what the world has to offer. However, there are four things about the broad road.

•It is easy to enter. Wide is it’s gate. Man is dreaming up new pleasures to satisfy the physical bodies and mind. All are part of the broad road.

•It is easy to travel. We like to take the path of least resistance. Go with the flow, so to speak.

•The broad road is easy to find. Just follow the crowd. They are on the way to an eternal burning in Hell.

•The board road is dangerous. It leads to destruction. Sin deceives and deteriorates the soul and leaves a person without morals or strength and damns his life to Hell.

The narrow road represents righteousness, a life where Jesus Christ is put first and foremost. Which will we choose in 2016?
