Carol Lynn McClain, 59, of Panama City Beach, passed away suddenly Sept. 21.

Carol was born in Clanton and lived in Bay County for the last five years.

She retired as purchasing agent for State Farm Insurance Company after over 30 years of service.

Carol was Baptist by faith, and loved snow skiing, boating, traveling, and enjoying life.

She was preceded in death by her father, James McClain; stepfather, Col. George L. Hicks and a brother, David Lee McClain.

Survivors include her mother, Estelle Hicks of Panama City; her sisters, Brenda Donegan and husband, Johnny of Dickson, Tenn., and Marcella Deriso and husband, Larry of Thomasville, Ga.; her stepbrother, Randy Hicks and wife, Darlene of Tuscaloosa; a special friend, Mike Carroll of Panama City Beach; her nieces, Angie Baggett and husband, J.T. of Dickson, Tenn., April Stokes and husband, Chris of Lynn Haven; Dawn Thompson and husband, Charlie of Columbia, S.C., Jodie Clemmons and husband, Rickey of Dickson, Tenn., Emily Dooley and husband, Matt of Columbiana, and Kathy Hicks of Opelika; seven great-nieces; six great-nephews and many dear friends and extended family.

Memorial services for Carol will begin at 3 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.T. Baggett officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of your choice in Carol’s name.
