A Jefferson County jury on Wednesday found a Verbena woman guilty of first-degree sodomy and sexual abuse of a child less than 12.

Toni Jo Minot, 41, who lists an address off County Road 506 in Verbena, was found guilty by a jury in the Jefferson County Circuit Court Bessemer Division, according to court records.

She is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. in Jefferson County by Circuit Judge David J. Hobdy.

Minot was originally arrested on Jan. 24, 2012, in Jefferson County, after being indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury in 2011 on charges of first-degree sodomy and sexual abuse of a child less than 12.

According to the indictment, Minot engaged in sexual contact with a child less than 12 between Dec. 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009, in Jefferson County.

Court records show Minot will remain in the Jefferson County Jail until her sentencing date.

Minot was sometimes known as Tony Jo Watson or Tony Jo Greek, according to court records.
