Thomas Wayne Moates, 72, of Clanton, passed away on June 11 at his residence.

He was born in Clanton on Dec. 3, 1942, the son of the late Thomas A. Moates and the late Cora Bryant Moates.

He was a former truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Felicia Moates of Clanton; daughter, Cindy Powell (Keith) of Clanton; son, Dwayne Moates of Locust Fork; grandchildren, Taylor Powell (Haley), Tanner Powell, Jordan Powell, Dexter Moates and Devine Moates; great-grandchildren, Lydia Powell and Grant Powell; brother, Ernie Moates of Clanton; special nephew, Tim Moates (Bonnie) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on June 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on June 13 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Springs Cemetery in Clanton.
