Pastor Jeff Carroll’s text came from John 4:43-54 titled “The Power of Faith.”
Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country due to unbelief, so he left there and went back to Galilee. There they received him at Cana of Galilee, where he had turned water into wine.
There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick. He went to Jesus imploring him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Jesus said unto him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.” The nobleman said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” This let Jesus know he already believed. Jesus said, “Go your way; your son lives.
The nobleman started for home, which was a day’s journey away. His servants met him saying, “Your son lives.” He asked, “At what hour did he get better?” The servants told him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him,” so the father knew it was at the same hour Jesus had said, “Your son lives.”
This scripture is just one of many examples of the tremendous power of faith. Why do we not come looking for something spiritual from God? Seeing things and looking for things is not faith; believing without seeing is faith. That is where a lot of us go wrong in our walk with Christ. Unless we see signs and wonders, we will not believe. If you have to see, you are on the wrong path; believing without seeing is true faith.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Believe what God tells you, not what man tells you. There is power in faith.
We invite all to come join us in praise and worship to the one true God. Love to all. Have a blessed week.
