Braxton Bragg Ballard, 65, a resident of Millbrook, passed away on Jan. 19 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. from Open Door Baptist Church at 1128 Oates Road, Prattville, AL 36067 with the Rev. Ken Stodola and the Rev. Charles Gilliland officiating.

The interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens.

Braxton was a former fireman, paramedic and reserve police officer with the city of Millbrook.

He was retired from Alagasco.

He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Ballard of Millbrook; daughter, April Deyerle (Chris) of Millbrook, Tiffany Kirkley (Jason) of Millbrook; grandchildren, Donovan Anderson, Logan Kirkley, Morgan Brantley, Tristan “Bud” Brantley and Rianne Brantley.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Ballard, Mike Champion, Skipper Ellis, Jason Keller, Travis Thomas and Tom Dix.

The family will receive friends on Jan. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to “ABC” Ministries (Alex and Braxton Against Cancer) in care of Open Door Baptist Church 1128 Oates Road, Prattville, AL 36067.
