Gary Dewayne Farris, 55, of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 7.

He was born on Jan. 27, 1959, in Clanton, son of the late Jessie Leon Farris and the late Estelle Littleton Farris.

Since leaving his job of 21 years at Glidewell Specialties Foundry, Farris has been fighting heart diseases at home for many years.

He was a member of Robinson Springs Church for 35 years.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Terri Farris of Clanton; daughter, Kelli Farris Peek (Brandon); grandson, Luke Peek, all of Clanton; and he was PaPaw to one special great nephew, Spencer Guy of Thorsby; father-in-law and mother-in-law, R.T. “Tom” and Shirley Brown of Clanton; brother, Jimmy Farris (Kathy); sister-in-law, Doris Farris; seven sisters, Linda Davis (Thomas), Margaret Courtney (Charles), Shirley Edwards (Ray), Sandra Parker (Randy), Connie Campbell (Tony), Cindy Greene (John), Frances Luther and a host of nieces and nephews.

Farris was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Leon and Estelle Farris; brother, Donnie Farris; brothers-in-law, Jerry Luther, Doug Langston, Jerry, Mike and Steve Brown and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 9 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. at Robinson Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. David Farris officiating with a one-hour visitation preceding service.

Interment will follow in Robinson Springs in Clanton.
