List of Christmas parades throughout county

In addition to Clanton’s Christmas Parade Dec. 5 at 6 p.m., municipalities including Maplesville, Thorsby, and Jemison will hold Christmas parades this weekend.
The city of Jemison and the town of Thorsby will have their annual Christmas parades on Dec. 6.
Thorsby’s Christmas parade will begin at 9 a.m. with line-up at 8:30 a.m. in front of the old sewing factory.

Jemison’s Christmas parade will begin at 11 a.m. with line-up at 10 a.m. in front of Jemison High School.
The parade will travel down Highway 31 and end at Jemison First Baptist Church.
The grand marshal will be Sherrie Evans from ABC 33/40.
Float contest awards will include “Best Christmas Spirit,” “Most Participation,” “Most Original,” and “Best Theme.”
Parade participants need to register to be in the parade.
Forms can be picked up at Jemison Municipal Complex, and the deadline to turn in the forms has been extended to Dec. 5.
Immediately following the parade, Allstate in Jemison will host “Cookies with Santa” inside the auditorium at Jemison Municipal Complex.
Children will be able to visit with Santa and have photos taken with him.
Parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras to take the photos.
This is the first year the event has been offered, and refreshments will be served.
The event is free and open to the public.

The town of Maplesville’s Christmas Parade is scheduled for Dec. 6 at 5 p.m.
Line-up begins at 3:30 p.m. at Maplesville High School with judging for parade floats at 4:30 p.m.
