Students have about three more weeks to savor their summer vacation before school starts Aug. 13.

The following are general dates on the 2014-2015 school calendar for the Chilton County School System:

•Aug. 4-12 – Teachers’ Institute/Professional Development

•Aug. 13 – Opening of schools, first term begins

•Sept. 1 – Labor Day

•Oct. 13 – Columbus Day (students only)

•Nov. 11 – Veterans Day

•Nov. 26-28 – Thanksgiving

•Dec. 19 – Christmas holidays, first term ends, dismiss at 3 p.m.

•Jan. 5, 2015 – Employees return from Christmas holidays

•Jan. 6, 2015 – Teacher workday

•Jan. 7, 2015 – Students return from Christmas holidays, second term begins

•Jan. 19, 2015 – Martin Luther King holiday

•Feb. 16, 2015 – Presidents’ Day/weather day

•March 23-27, 2015 – Spring Break

•April 3, 2015 – Good Friday/weather day

•May 1, 2015 – Student holiday/teacher workday

•May 21, 2015 – Closing date and graduation

•May 22, 2015 – Employee work day
