Tony Connell Jr., 85, of Clanton, passed away suddenly on June 20 at his residence. He was born in Clanton on Aug. 9, 1928, the son of the late Tony Connell Sr. and the late Pearlie Barrett Connell.

He retired from L&N Railroad.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Connell Bean of Clanton; son, Randy Connell (Pam) of Clanton, Danny Connell (Kay) of Clanton; son, Joey Connell of Clanton; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Marie Logan Connell; wife, Wilma Brand Martin Connell; father, Tony Connell Sr. and mother, Pearlie Barrett Connell.

Visitation will be held June 23 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held June 24 at 2 p.m. from Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Daniels and the Rev. Bobby Hopper officiating.

The body will also be in state on hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in Samaria Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
