Thought for the week: ‘Don’t Quit’

“When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

Announcements

Worship service at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison began with a praise service by the senior choir. Songs sung were “Come and Go to That Land” “Every Praise to Our God” and “I’m So Glad I’m Satisfied.”

The scripture was read by Buddy Nunn, with prayer by Pastor Dukes, Bro. S.T. Brown and Chadwick Nunn.

Pastor Dukes message was titled “Fall in Love With Yourself.” You can learn to love others. The Bible says to love your neighbor as yourself (Luke 24:1-8).

You can’t keep a good man down. Death steps aside for no one; no one is exempt from death. We all have an appointment with death. Death was defeated when it met Jesus. The Gospel is Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, and it is good news. It can save you. Sin separated you from Jesus. It all started in the garden. They (Adam and Eve) disobeyed God and listened to Satan, bringing death to all mankind, but Jesus gave us another chance.

Jesus came from the lineage of Abraham, through 42 generations. He was God’s Son who died for us and was resurrected and who now sits at God’s right hand. Behold the Lamb of God who died for the remission of our sins.
