Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements compiled by graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level.

Baseball

Chance Calloway (Chilton County 2012) tallied his fifth win of the season by hurling two strikeouts and allowing one earned run in a 7 2/3-inning effort as the starting pitcher for Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (22-24, 12-18 Alabama Community College Conference South Division) in a 6-3 victory at home against Enterprise State Community College (19-24, 11-19 Alabama Community College Conference South Division) on May 3 in Andalusia.

For the season, the sophomore totals 14 appearances and 11 starts to provide a 5-4 record, three complete games, 73 1/3 innings pitched, 39 strikeouts and a 2.82 ERA.

Alex Campbell (Jemison 2013) compiles 33 appearances at various positions for Wallace Community College at Selma (20-31-1, 8-17 Alabama Community College Conference Central Division) to contribute eight RBI, two doubles, two walks, one run scored and a .217 batting average.

As a pitcher, the freshman adds 15 appearances and nine starts to produce a 2-4 record, two complete games, 68.1 innings, 28 strikeouts and a 4.61 ERA.

Cameron Cummings (Chilton County 2013) batted 1-for-6 for University of South Alabama (21-26, 10-13 Sun Belt Conference) in a 15-10 loss at Georgia State University (23-25, 9-15 Sun Belt Conference) on May 4 in Atlanta.

For the season, the infielder compiles 39 appearances and 32 starts to deliver 20 runs scored, 19 walks, 13 RBI, three doubles, two stolen bases and a .256 batting average.

Craig Headley (Chilton County 2013) compiles 34 appearances as a catcher for Jefferson Davis Community College (21-22, 16-14 Alabama Community Conference South Division) to deliver 23 RBI, 20 runs scored, 16 walks, seven doubles, one stolen base and a .296 batting average.

Bo Hoffman (Thorsby 2013) compiles five appearances and two starts for Marion Military Institute (8-39-1, 1-25 Alabama Community College Conference Central Division) to provide a 1-1 record, 8 1/3 innings pitched, eight strikeouts and an 11.88 ERA.

Stephen Mims (Maplesville 2013) follows with four appearances and one start as a pitcher for Wallace Community College at Selma to deliver a 0-1 record, 8 1/3 innings, three strikeouts and a 5.40 ERA.

Men’s golf

Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) and the University of North Alabama men’s golf team was invited to compete at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional Tournament, hosted by Armstrong Atlantic University from May 5-7 in Savannah, Ga.

In the freshman’s most recent performance, he captured a tie for 13th at the Gulf South Conference Tournament with a three-round score of 222 (71-72-79) from April 21-22 in Tunica, Miss.

Softball

Brianna Cleckler (Chilton County 2013) hurled three strikeouts and allowed two earned runs in a four-inning effort as the starting pitcher for Southern Union State Community College (54-8, 16-0 Alabama Community College Conference Central Division) in a 6-3 victory at Faulkner State Community College (35-15, 22-8 Alabama Community College Conference South Division) on May 3 in Alabaster.

For the season, the freshman tallies 31 appearances and 28 starts to contribute a 22-3 record, 19 complete games, 158 2/3 innings pitched, 111 strikeouts and a 2.12 ERA.

Tiffany Guin (Jemison 2012) has 29 appearances and 15 starts as a pitcher for Central Alabama Community College to deliver a 15-7 record, two saves, seven complete games, 102 2/3 innings pitched, 54 strikeouts and a 4.36 ERA.

Shelby Lopez (Jemison 2012) totals 55 appearances as an infielder for Central Alabama Community College (40-18, 13-4 Alabama Community College Conference Central Division) to provide 42 runs scored, 24 RBI, 10 stolen bases, nine doubles, three home runs, one triple and a .313 batting average.

Lauren Stewart (Chilton County 2012) batted 1-for-3 with one RBI for Southern Union State Community College against Faulkner State Community College.

For the season, the infielder totals 13 RBI, 12 runs scored, 10 walks, four doubles and a .338 batting average.

Girls outdoor track and field

Lori Davis (Billingsley 2012) collected a title in the javelin at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships for Alabama State University, which was named Team of the Year by the ASU Athletic Department at the ASU Athletic Banquet on April 28 in Montgomery.

For the fifth consecutive season, the Hornets ended the season by capturing the conference title.

For the season, Davis concludes with a personal best mark in the javelin of 136 feet, 7 inches.
