CCHS twirler receives scholarship

Catherine Rowe, a senior at Chilton County High School, received a $44,000 scholarship from Huntingdon College on Friday, March 14.
Rowe is a four-year member of the CCHS Marching Band as a majorette.
She served as feature twirler and captain her senior year.
She is a competitive baton twirler and was awarded Collegiate Miss Majorette, Grand Champion Twirler, Hall of Fame Solo Twirler, Majorette Queen, Strut Queen, Best Majorette Model, 2 Baton and 3 Baton Champion.
During band competition, Catherine was selected as Best In Class and Superior rated Feature Twirler.
“We are elated that you will become a member of our program, and we look forward to the valuable contribution you will provide in continuing our tradition,” Director of Bands Eddy Williams said to Rowe.
Those attending Rowe’s signing included her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Barry Rowe; Julie Harrison, CCHS majorette sponsor; Rachel Miller, owner of ProTwirl and a private baton instructor; Rhonda Pickett, Huntingdon College Band staff members Eddy Williams, Huntingdon College Director of Bands; Adam Murphy, Assistant Director of Bands; and Amanda Patterson, majorette coach.
“I am honored to be afforded the opportunity for this scholarship, and I am very excited about my future at Huntingdon College,” Rowe said.
