Margie Nell Brewer Porter, 80, of Jemison, passed away Feb. 2 at her home in Jemison.
She was born in Chilton County on Aug. 24, 1933, the daughter of Richard Almon and Rodie Bolton Brewer.
Graveside services will be Feb. 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Curry-Jefferson Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating.
Surviving relatives include her sister, Mary Orell Brewer Baker of Clanton; brother, Thomas Neal Brewer of Clanton; eight nieces, Becky Baker Tucker of Clanton, Teresa Baker Allen of Dothan, Margie Nell Tenchipe of Clanton, Ann Brewer Leslie of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Mary Nell Brewer of Lebanon, Tenn., Annie Sommers of Safford, Barbara Blackmon and Janice Blackmon, both of Marion Junction; seven nephews: Randall Brewer of Clanton, Ronald Brewer of Rigby, Idaho, Johnny Rena Brewer of Clanton, Richard Edgar Brewer of Jemison, Richard Earl Davenport, Johnny Davenport, and Charles Davenport, all of Prattville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl H. “Bug” Porter; sisters, Rebecca Brewer and Pearline Davenport; brother, William Edgar Brewer and a nephew, Bobby Milton Brewer.
The family would like to say a special “thanks” to her caregivers, Bernice Atchison and Mary and David Nunn, for their love and comfort to Porter over the last years.
The family would also like to thank Southern Care Hospice for the care they provided this year.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southern Care Hospice or Thompson Chapel Church.
