For the second consecutive year, Grace Fellowship Church will hold a community event called “Burgers in the Park” at Goose Pond Park.

The event will be held Sunday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served at 5 p.m.

“The purpose of ‘Burgers in the Park’ is to serve people in our community, meet some people from our community that we have not had the opportunity to meet yet and to have a lot of fun while doing it,” Grace Fellowship Pastor Jake McCall said. “All aspects of this evening are completely free. ‘Burgers in the Park’ is open to anyone and everyone who would like to come check it out.”

A group called Rosetta and the Stones will perform

The group has performed at other local venues including Boomerang’s, the Chilton County Arts Festival and at Grace Fellowship Church.

“Rosetta and the Stones performs within a number of different settings and therefore appeals to a wide-ranging audience,” McCall said. “If you like bluegrass or classic rock, you will find yourself entertained.”

Inflatables will be available for children.

The event is expected to last until about 7:30 p.m.

McCall said the annual event was created by one of the small groups at Grace Fellowship two years ago and has become a church-wide event normally held the first Sunday after Labor Day.

“You may come and go as you please, but we hope you will stay awhile as we get to know those that are our neighbors,” McCall said. “The only thing that you will need is your appetite. We will have everything that will be needed for you to enjoy a fun night.”
