Letha Elena B. Cost, 88, of Jemison died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
She was born Sunday, Feb. 18, 1923, in Calhoun County, Miss., daughter of the late Charlie J. Branum and the late Bertie Becket Branum.
She was a clerk.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Stanley Willard Cost of Jemison; nephew, Jimmy (Luria) Parker of Jasper; four nieces, Pricilla (Rickey) Melton of Bruce, Miss., Norma Walls of Bruce, Miss., Bertie Swanson of Houston, Miss. and Linda (Bob) Holland of Saltillo, Miss.; six great nieces and nephews; seven great-great nieces and nephews, two of which she was very close to, Peyton and Parker Drummond of Dora; and very special private sitters, Latashia Worthey, Latashia Worthey, Annie Agee, Barbara Nix, Roslyn Varner, Angie Agee, Debra Bolding, Janice Perkins, Deidra Worthey, Marsha Kine, Shalonda Worthey and Tabby Rogers.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Charlie and Bertie Branum; sister, Jewel Branum Parker; brother, Edwin Branum; and daughter, Della Cost Tidwell.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 17 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Kent officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
