Lighting to include dance, singing

An evening of entertainment and hot chocolate will follow Clanton’s Fourth Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.
Several groups and soloists will perform at the Corner Park pavilion, including the First United Methodist Church Children’s Choir, First United Methodist Church Drama Team, Attitudes Dance, First Baptist Church Children’s Choir, Clanton Middle School Dance Team, Just Twirl It Baton and Dance, Payton Knight, and Jerry, Crystal and Grayson Russell.
Emceeing the event will be Chilton County’s own Sally Pitts of WSFA TV Channel 12 in Montgomery.
Prior to the lighting ceremony, Santa Claus will be greeting kids and posing for photos in Corner Park beginning at 5 p.m.
Also, local business C&C Trophy and Sign will provide free hot chocolate to those in attendance. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets in case of cold weather.
Corner Park is located at the corner of Sixth Street and Second Avenue North. Motorists should note that portions of both streets will be closed for the event.
