Chilton County Family Medicine will host a fishing tournament this weekend to benefit Relay For Life.

The tournament will be held April 23 at the Flat Land on Lay Lake. Registration is $50 per boat. Pre-registration is recommended but not required.

Cash prizes will be given to the winners — first place earns $300, while second place will pick up $200 and third place $100. A $10 prize will be given for the biggest fish.

“We are excited to be a part of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Chilton County,” said Jessica Weeks, Chilton Family Medicine team captain. “We have hosted a fishing tournament in the past and everyone had a lot of fun. We are hoping for great weather and hoping everyone will come out for a good day of fishing as we work to support the fight against cancer.”

Weeks said the office sponsored the fishing tournament last in 2009, which had good turnout.

Checks for the event should be made payable to the American Cancer Society. For more information about the tournament, contact Weeks at 280-1010.
