Huey Clay Nichols Sr., 75, of Plantersville died Saturday, April 2, 2011.

He was born Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1936, in Dallas County, son of the late Charles Chester Nichols and the late Mildred Hughey Nichols.

He was a transport operator.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Barbara Ann “Mickie” Nichols of Plantersville; three sons, Huey (Pam)  Nichols Jr. of Plantersville, Guy “D.D.” (Tonya) Nichols of Benton, Ark. and Roger (Betty Ann) Nichols of Stanton; three daughters, Loretta Faye (Phil) Walker of Plantersville, Melinda “Lynn”(Walter “Bug”) Aaron of Plantersville and Tina (Gaylen) Denson of Valley Grande; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Bobby Nell Edwards of Birmingham, Betty Smitherman of Plantersville and Lajuana Mehan of Marion; and brother, Chester Wayne Nichols of Mobile.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Chester Nichols; mother, Mildred Hubbard Nichols; brother, Curtis Nichols; and brother, Cherry Nichols.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 5 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 6 at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Don Stephens officiating.
