The Chilton County Commission on Monday approved paying dues to several organizations that benefit the county.
The commission voted to renew dues for the following:
•Facility Dude, in the amount of about $1,500. Facility Dude is a maintenance program that handles work orders and tracks how much money the county is spending on maintenance in different areas.
•Association of County Commissions of Alabama, in the amount of $6,537.
•National Association of Counties, $759.
•Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham, $17,941. Commissioners Tim Mims and Joe Headley voted against the measure, citing uncertainty about how much the county benefits from RPC’s services.
In other business, the commission:
•Renewed its worker’s compensation insurance for another year, for $1,213.
•Approved commission meeting dates for 2013 and a holiday schedule for county employees. The holiday schedule includes the same holidays as previous years.
•Allowed local veterans to use one of the courtrooms for their annual Veterans Day Celebration.
