School system releases current meal policy

The Chilton County School System announced in August its policy for free and reduced-price meals for children served in schools.
Under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, local school officials have adopted the following household size and income criteria for determining eligibility for the 2012-2013 school year:
Free meals and milk
•For a household size of one, income must be $14,521 or lower per year; $1,211 per month; $559 every two weeks; and $280 per week.
•For a household size of two, income must be $19,669 or lower per year; $1,640 or lower per month; $757 or lower every two weeks; and $379 or lower per week.
•For a household size of three, income must be $24,817 or lower per year; $2,069 or lower per month; $955 or lower every two weeks; and $478 or lower per week.
•For a household size of four, income must be $29,965 or lower per year; $2,498 or lower per month; $1,153 or lower every two weeks; and $577 or lower per week.
•For a household size of five, income must be $35,113 or lower per year; $2,927 or lower per month; $1,351 or lower every two weeks; and $676 or lower per week.
•For a household size of six, income must be $40,261 or lower per year; $3,356 or lower per month; $1,549 or lower every two weeks; and $775 or lower per week.
•For a household size of seven, income must be $45,409 or lower per year; $3,785 or lower per month; $1,747 or lower every two weeks; and $874 or lower per week.
•For a household size of eight, income must be $50,557 or lower per year; $4,214 or lower per month; $1,945 or lower every two weeks; and $973 or lower per week.
For each additional family member, add $5,148 per year; $429 per month; $198 every two weeks; and $99 per week.
