James Martin Wright, 86, of Clanton died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at Bill Nichols VA Home in Alexander City.

He was born Thursday, Aug. 21, 1924, in Talladega County, son of the late Floyd Lushon Wright and the late Mattie Nora Giles Wright.

He was a pipe fitter.

Surviving are his wife, Alma Alene Wright of Clanton; daughter, JoAnn Wright of Great Falls, Mont.; son, James Douglas Wright of North Fort Myers, Fla.; two granddaughters, Amy King and Candyce Wright; grandson, Dean James Wright; and great granddaughter, Alexis Paoletti.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Lushon Wright and Mattie Nora Giles Wright; five brothers, Arthur, Hubert, Clifford, Crawford and Eddie Wright; and sister, Ruth Wright.

Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt DeBord and the Rev. Jay Hurd officiating.

Interment followed in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
