Walter Ballard Dumper Jr., 72, of Jemison died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011.

He was born Sunday, Jan. 22, 1939, in Illinois, son of the late Walter Ballard Dumper Sr. and the late Catherine French Dumper.

He was a house inspector. He was also a devoted member of the Chilton Civic Chorale.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Dumper of Jemison; son, Scott (Kathryn) Raymond Dumper of Atlanta; daughter, Suzanne (Jonathan) Entrekin of San Antonio, Texas; stepson, Joe Darren Bailey of Athens; stepdaughter, Heather LaDon Bailey of Jemison; brother, Robert (Brenda) Dumper of Chicago; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Dumper; and brother, Brent Dumper.

Friends will be received from 12-1 Tuesday, March 1 at Clanton United Methodist Church.

Services will be held Tuesday, March 1 at 1 p.m. at Clanton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Anderson officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
