Red Devils take two on opening day

Maplesville’s baseball team swept a doubleheader against Isabella on Monday in the first games of the season for both teams.
The Red Devils won the first game, 14-7, with Tyler Crumpton starting on the mound for the hosts.
Blake Crumpton, James Madsen and Bobby Smith all had two hits for MHS. One of Madsen’s hits was a double, and one of Smith’s was a home run.
Austin Haigler, who suffered the loss on the mound, had three hits for Isabella, including a double and a home run, and Sawyer Cahalane had two hits and one double.
Smith and Aron Smitherman combined for Maplesville to shut down the Mustangs in the second game of the doubleheader.
Tyler Crumpton had three hits in support, and Blake Crumpton had two, including one home run.
Trey Calfee took three walks for IHS, and Cahalane drove in two runs.
