Laura Ann “Annie” Brooks, 73, of Clanton died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.

She was born Sunday, Feb. 21, 1937, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Dewey Cleckler and the late Ruby Lou Simmons Cleckler.

She was a production worker.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Brooks of Clanton; three sons, Randy Emmerich of Clanton, Steve Emmerich of Clanton and Kelley (Sabrina) Brooks of Clanton; daughter, Cathy Carr of Independence, Mo.; brother, Herman Cleckler of Clanton; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ruby Cleckler; brother, Bernie Cleckler; and brother, Parmar Cleckler.

Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 9 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Monday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Scott officiating.

Interment will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton.
