Central Alabama Motor Speedway, a 3/8-mile red clay track located off Highway 22, will open its gates on Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 for drivers to test and tune their dirt track cars.

Race fans will have the opportunity to meet the drivers and staff at CAMS.

Drivers will be testing their cars for the season opener on March 6. The race divisions will include Barber Motorsports Crate Late Model/Sportsman’s, Buddha’s Screen Printing Thunder Car’s, L&L Forklift Hobby Cars, Chico’s Detail Shop Street Stocks, Hutch Construction Super Ponys and Eagle Auto Sales Buzz Car/Pure Ponys.

After the season opener, Central Alabama Motor Speedway will host races every Saturday night through the end of November.

The facilities and race program will be under the direction of Jaye Hutchison, a longtime dirt track driver. CAMS public relations director Eddie Davis said track officials are serious about safe and clean family fun that all can enjoy.

“The drivers and fans can expect a family atmosphere and experience a well-planned night of dirt track racing along with spotless full service concessions in the grandstands and pits, with prices that all can afford,” Davis said.
