A Clanton woman died in a single car accident Monday, May 7 along Interstate 65 in Shelby County.

Connie Woods, 53, was driving a 2005 Mercury in Calera when she was fatally injured in a wreck near mile-marker 230, according to a press release from the Alabama Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division.

The accident occurred at 12:55 p.m., and Woods was transported to Shelby Baptist Medical Center. No one else was injured. The accident is still under investigation.
