Billy Wayne Martin, age 54 of Jemison, passed away on May 1, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Chilton County on March 10, 1957, the son of the late Winston M.C. Martin and the late Flora “Hodee” Mull Martin.

He was a sheet metal mechanic in the HVAC repair industry.

He is survived by: wife, Sharon Martin of Clanton; son, Chris (Karie) Martin of Verbena; daughter, Dawn (Phillip) Jackson of Clanton; grandsons, Tyler and Joseph Jackson; granddaughters, Debralyn Jackson and Kaylee Martin; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: father, Winston M.C. Martin; mother, Flora “Hodee” Martin; sister, Joyce Giles; sister, Judy Davis; and brother, Mitchell Martin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4 at 11 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Mims, the Rev. Calvin Smitherman and the Rev. Lee Ingram officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.
