Amy Porter Mims, 96, of Thorsby died Friday, April 27, 2012, in Clanton.

She was born on Saturday, April 22, 1916, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Dock C. Porter and the late Nancy Rena Ray Porter.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy (Joel) Rogers of Thorsby; dranddaughter, Amy Rogers Williams of Clanton; grandson, Christopher Rogers of Jacksonville, Fla.; and great-granddaughter, Whitney Ryanne Williams of Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reese Mims; parents, Dock and Rena Porter; sister, Itira Boswell; and grandson, Casey Ryan Rogers.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 29 at 3:30 p.m. at Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison with the Rev. Doug Powell officiating.
