Richard Leon Davenport

Richard Leon Davenport, age 66 of Maplesville, passed away on April 11, 2012, at Baptist South in Montgomery.

He was born in Chilton County on June 19, 1945, the son of the late Henry Davenport and the late Ester Atkinson Davenport.

He was a mobile home maintenance man.

He is survived by: wife, Etta Davenport of Maplesville; son, Matthew (Becky) Davenport of Helena; daughter, Mary (Larry) Ray of Maylene; son, Ronnie Davenport of Maplesville; daughter, Samantha (Lenny) Prewitt of Vance; daughter, Charlotte Ward of Maplesville; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard (Mavis) Davenport of Montgomery; sister, Dot East of Lafayette; sister, Faye Porter of Jemison; brother, Grady Davenport of Helena; brother, James (JoAnn) Davenport of Montevallo; brother Charles “Will” (Peggy) Davenport of Houston, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, along with: son, Randy Leon Davenport; and brother, Bud Davenport.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 13 from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Ingram and the Rev. John Ingram officiating.

The family received friends two hours prior to the service on Friday.

Burial followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Jemison.
