Parole denied, granted for Chilton offenders in Jan. 15 hearings

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 22 hearings on Jan. 15, and two featured Chilton County offenders with one being granted parole.

Brian Earl Edwards was granted parole by the board with special conditions to complete the Perry County Probation/Parole Reentry Education Program (PREP), wearing an ankle monitor and complete a drug assessment upon his release. No one spoke in favor or against Edwards being granted parole.

Edwards was serving a 48-month sentence for a Possession of Controlled Substance charge stemming from an arrest on Aug. 21, 2024 in Chilton County. When granted parole, Edwards had served six months and 27 days of the 48-month sentence with 55 days of jail credit and 162 days of good time included.

Ebony Trennia Floyd was denied parole by the board on Jan. 15 and did not receive a reset date. No one spoke in favor or against Floyd being granted parole. Floyd is currently serving an 84-month sentence for an Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle arrest on April 24, 2024. She was also charged for Theft of Property III and Possession of Controlled Substance as well that day, and those sentences are being served concurrently. Floyd has currently served one year, three months and five days of her 84-month sentence with 188 days of jail credit and 475 days of good time included.

Floyd’s criminal history in Chilton County dates back as far as 2005, accumulating six charges over the years with arrests in Chilton and Shelby Counties.
