Stages set for 2025 Chilton County Basketball Tournaments

Chilton County basketball teams will ring in the new year by taking the court for the 2025 Chilton County Basketball Tournaments from Jan. 6-11 at Chilton County High School. All games will take place at Chilton County High School.

This year’s installment of the county clash will have the traditional three tournaments played — varsity boys, varsity girls and junior varsity boys. Games will be spread out across five days with the fifth and final day on Jan. 11 to be Championship Saturday for the varsity boys and varsity girls tournaments. The junior varsity boys tournament final will be played on Jan. 10.

 

2025 Chilton County Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament

The varsity girls tournament crown will be up for grabs as the three-time defending champions Chilton County High School have a completely revamped roster this season. Jemison High School’s fast start to the season at 9-3 have them riding momentum into the county tournament. Both Maplesville and Verbena High Schools come in with above .500 records and positive start to the season. However, teams like Chilton County, Isabella and Thorsby High Schools can get everything going with a solid showing in the county tournament.

 

2025 Chilton County Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament

CCHS has controlled the varsity boys county tournament just like the varsity girls for the last three years winning each championship during that time. The Panthers of Jemison on the varsity boys side have had a great start to the season as well, starting 12-3 so far and riding a six-game win streak into the tournament.

Maplesville has yet to suffer a defeat this season after their season started later than most teams, and will be hoping to continue their winning ways into the county tournament as well. Thorsby is also riding a win streak into the tournament of three games, and holds a record right around .500. Other squads will be looking to use the county tournament as a springboard into the second half of the season.

 

2025 Chilton County Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament

Jemison will be looking to defend their title in the junior varsity boy’s tournament after taking the 2024 championship over Thorsby in the final 31-26 after the Panthers’ Adrian Davis took home MVP honors.

January 6

JVB: Maplesville High School (H) vs. Isabella High School at 4:30 p.m.

VG: Maplesville High School (H) vs. Verbena High School at 6 p.m.

VB: Maplesville High School (H) vs. Verbena High School at 7:30 p.m.

 

January 7

JVB: Thorsby High School (H) vs. Chilton County High School ay 4:30 p.m.

VG: Chilton County High School (H) vs. Isabella High School at 6 p.m.

VB: Chilton County High School (H) vs. Isabella High School at 7:30 p.m.

 

January 9

JVB: Jemison High School (H) vs. Game 1 Winner at 7:30 p.m.

VG: Jemison High School (H) vs. Game 1 Winner at 6 p.m.

VB: Jemison High School (H) vs. Game 1 Winner at 7:30 p.m.

 

January 10

Junior Varsity Boys Championship Game at 4:30 p.m.

VG: Thorsby High School (H) vs. Game 2 Winner at 6 p.m.

VB: Thorsby High School (H) vs. Game 2 Winner at 7:30 p.m.

 

January 11

Varsity Girls Championship Game at 5 p.m.

Varsity Boys Championship Game at 7 p.m.
