The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 21 hearings on Dec. 4, one of which involved a Chilton County offender.

William Earl Brakefield III was denied parole by the board, but received a reset date of June 1, 2026. No one spoke in favor or against Brakefield being granted parole. Brakefield is currently serving a 25-year sentence for a Robbery I arrest on July 11, 2003 in Chilton County, and he also has 14 other concurrent sentences in Jefferson, Talladega and Tuscaloosa Counties. Brakefield has currently served 19 years, 10 months and 12 days on his sentence with 316 days of jail credit included, and his minimum release date is set for Jan. 22, 2030.
