The Town of Maplesville was transformed into a winter wonderland for the seventh time at the Maplesville Old Fashioned Christmas in downtown on Dec. 1. The annual event kicked off the Christmas festivities in Maplesville, and Chilton County, as the other municipalities’ Christmas events are coming up shortly in December.
Held on the first Sunday in December, Maplesville’s Old Fashioned Christmas welcomes thousands of visitors each year that expands the town’s population too many times over the normal amount. The event is completely free to those who attend, and many in the Maplesville community come out to participate and make the event what it is each year.
Attractions at this year’s Old Fashioned Christmas included free food and drinks from Valle Grand Mexican Grill and other eateries, free kids activities, vendors, music, bounce houses, horse-drawn carriage rides, pony rides, photo opportunities and more. Maplesville’s Trail of Trees were also on display and will be available for viewing throughout the Christmas season.
The event is planned for months by the Maplesville Old Fashioned Christmas Committee — a group of volunteers that put together each and every detail of the event so it goes over smoothly each year.
