A Chilton County woman was killed in a wreck in Tuscaloosa County on Nov. 23 that injured two other people.

The head-on crash happened at 2:30 p.m. on Alabama Highway 171, approximately 16 miles north of Tuscaloosa. Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as 80-year-old Barbara J. Kornegay. Kornegay was the passenger in a Nissan Rouge that collided head-on with 71-year-old James M. Hollingsworth’s Ford F-150. Hollingsworth is from Lamar County. Kornegay was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, 81-year-old Frederick Kornegay, and a passenger in the car, 87-year-old Anne N. Churchwell, were both taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, and the severity of their injuries were not released. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s investigation into the wreck is ongoing.
